I absolutely love doing engagement sessions. Time constraints and agendas are not a factor. To me, it is more like a hang out session and there are many benefits. It gives me the opportunity to get to know the couple that will be in front of my camera on the day of the wedding, and that is huge. Now I know exactly what type of images they are looking for and that mind set is in place to start the wedding day.
They went on their first date in Manhattan where there seems to be plenty to do. They visited Bryant Park on their way to Rockefeller Center to see the tree and then went to the Top of the Rock. Once I heard that after asking for the story of how they met, I knew that was exactly what should do for their engagement shoot. We walked to Bryant Park from Penn Station, then to the NY Public Library before we ended up at Rockefeller Center the day before the tree was to be taken down.
